Audi takes another step towards its arrival in F1 by announcing its title sponsor

A clear and ambitious strategy

Scheduled for the 2026 season, Audi’s entry into F1 will take place through the gradual acquisition of the Sauber team, already undergoing a transition. The Ingolstadt-based manufacturer, part of the Volkswagen Group, aims to play a leading role from the start with a 100% in-house developed engine.

The announcement of this title sponsor represents a major strategic step forward: Revolut, a globally recognized company, will provide significant financial and technological support to Audi F1.

A strong signal sent to the paddock

This announcement is far from trivial: it underlines the strength of Audi’s project and its clear intent to become a long-term player in the sport. As F1 prepares to enter a new era in 2026 with revised technical regulations, Audi is making it clear it has no intention of being a mere spectator.

By securing this partnership now, Audi is anticipating the economic and sporting challenges ahead. The title sponsor will provide key resources to develop the engine facility in Neuburg, Germany, where more than 300 engineers are already working on the F1 project.

Fan expectations and brand image

From a branding perspective, this announcement will delight fans of the four rings. Audi’s entry into F1 is seen as a strong comeback for German engineering expertise in motorsport, following Mercedes' years of dominance.

Now remains to be revealed: the team’s final visual identity, its driver line-up, and its ambitions for the first seasons. But one thing is certain: Audi is not entering F1 just to make up the numbers.
