FIA introduces two mandatory pit stops to boost Monaco GP

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has decided to impose two mandatory pit stops during the Monaco Grand Prix to make the race more exciting. This measure, approved by the World Motor Sport Council, requires each driver to make at least two pit stops during the race and use at least three different sets of tires, with at least two different compounds (soft, medium, or hard) in dry conditions.
This decision aims to enliven a race often criticized for its lack of overtaking, due to the narrow and winding layout of the Monaco circuit. Drivers, including Monegasque Charles Leclerc, have expressed their support for this initiative, hoping it will bring more suspense and varied strategies to the race.
The 71st edition of the Monaco Grand Prix, scheduled for May 25, will be the first to apply this new regulation. This Monaco Grand Prix-specific change could serve as a test for potential future adaptations on other circuits with similar characteristics.
