F1: Records Already Broken and Those Kimi Antonelli Can Still Aim For

Kimi Antonelli is already shaking up Formula 1 with several precocity records. Discover the ones he has broken in 2025–2026 and those he can still aim for, including Monaco.

F1: the records already broken… and those Kimi Antonelli can still target

At just 18 years old when he made his Formula 1 debut, Kimi Antonelli was already seen as a phenomenon. One year later, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team driver is living up to expectations… and has already written his name in the history books.

But despite these impressive performances, several major records are still within his reach.

The records Antonelli has ALREADY broken

Unlike other young talents before him, Antonelli is no longer just a promise: he is already a record holder.

Youngest pole sitter in history

At the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix, Antonelli became the youngest driver to secure a pole position at just 19 years and ~6 months, beating Sebastian Vettel’s record.

Youngest race winner (almost all-time record)

Also in China, he won the race at 19 years and 6 months, becoming the second youngest winner in history, just behind Max Verstappen.

Precocity records in races (2025)

From his very first season, he had already made an impression:

  • Youngest driver to lead a Grand Prix (18 years, 225 days)
  • Youngest driver to set a fastest lap in a race

Youngest championship leader

In 2026, he also became the youngest leader of the world championship, proving his consistency at the highest level.

The records he can still break

Despite this exceptional start to his career, some of the most iconic records are still within reach.

Youngest world champion

  • Current record: Sebastian Vettel at 23 years old.

This is THE most realistic major goal. With a competitive car at Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, Antonelli can clearly aim for this record in the coming seasons.

Youngest winner of the Monaco Grand Prix

Even if it is not an official record often highlighted, winning in Monaco at a very young age is a strong statement.

The Monaco Grand Prix remains the most technical race on the calendar. An early victory in the streets of the Principality would have a huge impact in terms of image.
Antonelli, already comfortable on technical circuits, could achieve this feat.

Early dominance records

Beyond age, other records are possible:

  • Most wins before the age of 21
  • Most pole positions at the start of a career
  • Best season ever for a driver under 20

With his rapid progression, these goals are far from unrealistic.

A new standard in Formula 1

Kimi Antonelli’s trajectory perfectly illustrates the evolution of modern Formula 1: drivers ready earlier than ever, capable of performing immediately.

Where Max Verstappen had already redefined the standards, Antonelli is pushing the limits even further.
