Monaco 2025 E-Prix: a spectacular Formula E double

The weekend of May 3rd and 4th, 2025 marked a historic milestone for Formula E with the very first double E-Prix held on the iconic streets of Monaco. Two thrilling races delivered major twists in the title fight, with memorable performances by Oliver Rowland and Sébastien Buemi.

Saturday, May 3rd: Commanding win for Oliver Rowland

British driver Oliver Rowland (Nissan) won the first race of the weekend, marking his third victory of the season. Starting from second place, he managed the race brilliantly to beat Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) and Jake Dennis (Andretti). This victory allows Rowland to widen his lead in the championship, now totaling 94 points compared to 60 for his closest rival, Pascal Wehrlein.

Sunday, May 4th: Triumphant comeback for Sébastien Buemi

The second race took place under light rain, making track conditions particularly tricky. Sébastien Buemi (Envision) skillfully rose from seventh on the grid to win, claiming his first Formula E victory in six years. Oliver Rowland finished second, solidifying his lead in the standings with a total of 115 points. Nick Cassidy (Jaguar) completed the podium, achieving his first top 3 finish in almost a year.
