Piastri prend les commandes, cap sur Miami

The 2025 Formula 1 season got off to a flying start with this trio of consecutive races in Asia and the Middle East. Oscar Piastri stood out by winning two of these events, taking the lead in the championship. Let’s look back at the highlights of the Japanese, Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix before turning our attention to the upcoming race in Miami.

Japanese Grand Prix – Suzuka (6 April 2025)

The legendary Suzuka circuit saw Max Verstappen (Red Bull) win for the fourth time in a row in Japan, ahead of the McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. This victory helped Verstappen reignite his season after a quieter start.

Bahrain Grand Prix – Sakhir (13 April 2025)

Oscar Piastri (McLaren) claimed his second win of the season at the Sakhir circuit, leading the race from start to finish. George Russell (Mercedes) and Lando Norris (McLaren) completed the podium, while Max Verstappen finished fourth.

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix – Jeddah (20 April 2025)

In Jeddah, Oscar Piastri (McLaren) shone once again by winning his third race of the season. He finished ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who received a five-second penalty for gaining an advantage off track, and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), who secured his first podium of the year. This win propelled Piastri to the top of the championship, becoming the first Australian to lead the standings since Mark Webber in 2010.

Next up: Miami Grand Prix (4 May 2025)

Formula 1 now crosses the Atlantic for the Miami Grand Prix, set for 2–4 May 2025. The race will take place on the semi-urban circuit surrounding the Hard Rock Stadium. It will also be a Sprint weekend, adding even more excitement and championship points.
