A legendary and demanding circuit

The Suzuka Circuit is one of the most iconic tracks on the F1 calendar. With its 5.807 km, it features a sequence of fast corners, including the famous "S Curves of Suzuka," the formidable 130R corner, and the final chicane, which has often been the scene of decisive moments. This unique figure-eight track is appreciated by drivers for its technical demands and absolute precision requirement.

The stakes for teams and drivers

After an already eventful start to the season, teams approach this Grand Prix with well-prepared strategies. McLaren, which recently secured a one-two finish in China, will try to confirm its rise in power against Red Bull and Ferrari. Max Verstappen will seek to regain his lead in the championship, while Lewis Hamilton will want to prove that his move to Ferrari can finally bear fruit.

On the Mercedes side, George Russell hopes to capitalize on his podium in China, while Alpine and Aston Martin will seek to score valuable points after a lackluster start to the season.

Weekend schedule and timings

Here is the complete schedule for the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix:

  • Friday, April 4: Free Practice 1 (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM), Free Practice 2 (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
  • Saturday, April 5: Free Practice 3 (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM), Qualifying (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM)

Uncertain weather conditions?

The Japanese Grand Prix is often subject to unpredictable weather conditions. Rain has already played a key role in the past, notably in 2014. Teams will therefore have to closely monitor forecasts and adjust their strategies accordingly.
